Like the chanichim will tell you, you can't throw batteries in the garbage, they have to be disposed of in a special toxic waste facility. So, if you have any used batteries you can bring them to us and we'll dispose of them properly for you. Some pictures from the event are posted below.

Ken Recycling!
On October 5th, our second ken was held at the MN JCC. The chanichim learnt all about recycling; why should we recycle, and how to recycle. Then they exercised their creativity, turning reused household objects into fantastic crafts.
Apple Picking at Chudleigh's
Keeping up the Rosh Hashanah spirit, a group of about 35 chanichim, madrichim, and parents traveled to Chudleigh's Orchard for a fun day of apple picking. Everyone had a great time playing games, visiting the petting zoo, discovering playgrounds, and of course, apple picking. Now the question is, what to do with all those apples?

First Ken Event - Rosh Hashanah Apple Pies (Mmm)
On October 5th, a group of about 20 chanichim (campers) and 10 madatz/madrichim (counsellors) gathered for our first downtown ken event. Everyone enjoyed getting their hands messy making delicious apple pies, in the spirit of the upcoming holiday. A friendly competition of Rosh Hashanah trivia and other games ensued, and a good time was enjoyed by all. Shanah Tova everyone!
Annual Gesher BBQ
The annual Gesher BBQ was quite a success this year. On September 7th, more then 200 campers and parents gathered in Earl Bales park for the reunion. The event was a great start to kick-off the rest of this year's kenim (year-long programming). This year we are especially looking forward to our brand new ken at the Miles Nadal JCC, for chanichim (campers) grades two to five. Hope to see everyone again at our next event!
